DON'T LISTEN TO IRC
[22:54] Apol> You guys remember Milo & Otis?
[22:54] Apol> Well, originally it was a Japanese film
[22:54] Apol> it was dubbed into english
[22:54] PepsimanVsJoe> I figured it was japanese.
[22:54] Dak> yeah, that dog's mouth did not match the dialogue at all
[22:54] Abster> The credits tell the whole story
[22:55] Abster> heh
[22:55] Apol> anyways, apparently japan had different animal cruelty laws
[22:55] PepsimanVsJoe> I remember reading a movie description that said the movie took place in Japan.
[22:55] Apol> everytime one of the kittens needed to fall off a cliff or whatever
[22:55] PepsimanVsJoe> So naturally I assumed..blahblah
[22:55] Apol> they actually tossed it, and it died and they got a new one
[22:55] Dak> sweet
[22:55] PepsimanVsJoe> Apol: WHAT
[22:55] Apol> so that cute little orange cat?
[22:55] PepsimanVsJoe> THEY KILLED A CAT!?!?!?!? :(((((((((((
[22:55] Apol> well, it's probably 5 or 6 cute little orange cats.
[22:55] Deets> Ha ha ha ha ha
[22:55] Deets> Oh my GOD
[22:55] * PepsimanVsJoe Hulk-smashes the keyboard
[22:55] Deets> You could have just made that up
[22:55] Apol> most of them dead by the time the movie was over
[22:56] Apol> Deets no, it's true
[22:56] Deets> I can't stop LAUGHING
[22:56] PepsimanVsJoe> Jesus
[22:56] Deets> Even though it's super horrible
[22:56] Apol> like, instead of throwing a model off the cliff, they just tossed the real cat and got a new one
[22:56] PepsimanVsJoe> Throwing kittens off a cliff.
[22:56] Dak> probably strays anyway
[22:56] Deets> That is one of the most hilariously macabre things I've ever heard
[22:56] Apol> so like, all these kids watching this movie, they don't realize
[22:56] Apol> that the cat is really dying.
[22:56] PepsimanVsJoe> I thought they could just throw the kitten off a really short cliff.
[22:56] PepsimanVsJoe> Like they did with the animals in Monty Python and the Holy Grail
[22:56] PepsimanVsJoe> But whatever
[22:56] Apol> nope, apparently they went through a lot of cats and puppies for that movie.
[22:57] PepsimanVsJoe> ...
[22:57] PepsimanVsJoe> Well now I'm happy we dubbed over it.
This wikipedia article says different though. . I just found it odd that a movie I watched a lot as a tiny kid might have hideously hilarious animal cruelty lurking in the background. And I am a monster who finds the thought of kitties getting hurled to their doom funny!
Oh, I picked up Sega Classics Collection the other day at the recommendation of random folks. They all swore that once you get over the graphics and how genuinely awful some of the games on the disc are, you'll at the very least not want your $20 back. I'm still not sure. Definitely going to have to play it some more. I will say that Space Harrier & Golden Axe are the most disappointingly and obviously unplayable games on there. What the hell happened student budget game coders?
I'm also going to have to write something about Motocross Madness, MDK 2, No One Lives Forever (its sequel, too), and Jagged Alliance 2, because I picked them up for $11 today. Mostly though, I think I need to stop getting random games for a while, no matter how cheap they are, because I don't have enough goddamn time to play them. At all. For a bunch of reasons, but mainly because I don't stay at home during the day. Anyway.

Nothing like falling cats and the traps of doom!, but it is a kids movie that someone gets hurt in.

DINOSAUR LAND IS BURNING
MDK2 has the most disheartening section of any game ever. And I love that verison of Space Harrier, do you still hate it?

Re: DINOSAUR LAND IS BURNING
I haven't played it in a long time, but I'm pretty sure I still hate it. Probably. What's there to appreciate about it, in your opinion?
